It was about 8am when our friends dropped us off at the turn off to the villages of Sindou (where I worked) and Miname (where I lived). We had left our little guesthouse in Dakar at about 6:30am and now only had a three kilometer walk between us and the faces and places I’d been dreaming off for almost six years.
Excited? You bet I was.
The walk was wonderful – cool, early morning sun and a chance for us to talk and process some of what we’ve seen and learned this week. It was good, calm entry into a day that was truly non-stop emotion, smiles and laughter.
